Erling Haaland Vows Return to Manchester City Despite Ankle Injury
The striker faces a recovery period of approximately seven weeks following an injury sustained during the FA Cup clash against Bournemouth.
Erling Haaland, the Norwegian forward for Manchester City, has pledged to return to action despite currently using crutches and wearing a protective boot on his left foot.
The player is expected to be sidelined for around seven weeks due to an ankle injury sustained in a recent match against Bournemouth, which ended in a 2-1 victory for Manchester City in the FA Cup quarter-finals.
Haaland shared a photo on his social media accounts, resembling a message from Hollywood actor Arnold Schwarzenegger, showing him with his crutches held high.
In the post, he included an emoticon symbolizing a flexed bicep.
Prior to his injury, Haaland had netted his 30th goal of the season during the match against Bournemouth, but the incident occurred when Bournemouth's right-back, Lewis Cook, accidentally fell onto Haaland's ankle during a challenge in the second half.
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola confirmed that Haaland would be absent for a period ranging from five to seven weeks.
The team is set to face Crystal Palace in the Premier League on Wednesday, having recently fallen out of contention for the league title but aiming to secure a qualifying spot for the UEFA Champions League.
