Germany's Foreign Minister Accuses Putin of Stalling in Ukraine Negotiations
Annalena Baerbock claims Russian president is manipulating time in ongoing conflicts.
During a recent visit to Kyiv, German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock accused Russian President Vladimir Putin of playing for time in negotiations over the ongoing war in Ukraine.
Baerbock stated that Ukraine is ready for an immediate ceasefire, asserting that it is Putin who is betting on the duration of the conflict and is resistant to pursuing peace.
This marks Baerbock's ninth visit to Ukraine since the conflict initiated.
She emphasized that, despite Putin's apparent readiness to engage in talks, he remains steadfast in his initial military objectives.
On March 11, an agreement between Ukraine and the United States outlined a plan for a 30-day ceasefire with Russia.
However, President Putin rejected the proposal and intensified rhetoric regarding Moscow's desire to establish a new leadership in Ukraine.
Baerbock's remarks underscore the ongoing tensions and complexities surrounding diplomatic efforts to resolve the war, as both sides navigate a prolonged and intricate conflict.
