Jordan's National Football Team Advances to 62nd in FIFA World Rankings
Following recent performances, Jordan moves up in global rankings, marking significant progress in World Cup qualifying.
The Jordanian national football team has experienced a notable rise in the FIFA World Rankings, moving up two positions to rank 62nd globally as announced today, April 3. This advancement is attributed to the team's impressive performances in the ongoing qualification process for the 2026 World Cup.
Recently, Jordan achieved a victory over Palestine with a score of 3-1 in Amman and secured a 1-1 draw against South Korea in Seoul.
These results have contributed to Jordan's total of 1389.15 points, placing them ninth among Asian teams.
In the World Cup qualifying group stage, Jordan currently sits second in Group B with 13 points, trailing South Korea, who leads with 16 points, and is ahead of Iraq, which has accumulated 12 points.
The two top teams from each group will gain direct entry into the World Cup, while the teams finishing in third and fourth will enter the playoff rounds.
Jordan still has two critical matches remaining in June against Oman and Iraq, which are pivotal for their chances of direct qualification to the World Cup or progression to the playoffs.
On a global scale, Argentina continues to hold the top position in the FIFA rankings, followed by Spain in second place.
