Launch of Mohammed bin Zayed Humanitarian Impact Foundation Coincides with Zayed Humanitarian Work Day
The foundation aims to enhance global health and support vulnerable communities through innovative solutions and humanitarian initiatives.
The Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Humanitarian Impact Foundation was officially launched as part of the celebrations for Zayed Humanitarian Work Day.
The foundation’s mission is to enhance human potential, support global health priorities, and provide opportunities for the world’s most disadvantaged communities.
Its strategy focuses on sustainable efforts in global health and comprehensive development by investing in promising solutions that empower individuals and communities.
During a meeting at Al-Shatea Palace in Abu Dhabi, President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan reviewed the vision and objectives of the foundation.
In attendance were Sheikh Dhiyab bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy President of the Presidential Court for Development Affairs, other dignitaries, and representatives of the foundation.
The establishment of the foundation was formalized through a decree issued by Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister, coinciding with Zayed Humanitarian Work Day, which falls on the 19th day of Ramadan each year, commemorating the enduring legacy of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan in humanitarian and charitable endeavors.
The foundation operates with legal and financial independence, allowing it to effectively achieve its goals.
The foundation will implement humanitarian, charitable, and developmental initiatives and enhance the culture of humanitarian work both locally and internationally.
It will provide aid and relief to affected individuals, ensuring rapid response to emergency humanitarian situations, in coordination with relevant authorities.
Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed emphasized that the foundation would contribute to realizing President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed’s vision of empowering individuals and communities and providing assistance to those affected worldwide.
He noted that it will focus on implementing initiatives and projects aimed at creating lasting positive impacts in the lives of communities in need across social and economic dimensions.
The establishment of the foundation reflects the UAE’s commitment to building a more cooperative and prosperous world.
According to Sheikh Dhiyab bin Mohammed, the foundation aims to stimulate innovation, collaborate on new solutions, and establish partnerships that enhance global community capabilities.
He underscored that the launch marks a significant chapter in the UAE’s legacy of impactful humanitarian initiatives.
Over the next five years, the Mohammed bin Zayed Humanitarian Impact Foundation aims to reach over 500 million people in more than 50 countries, including regions in Asia, Africa, and the Middle East.
The foundation will extend existing charitable initiatives led by President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, focusing on community empowerment, health for all, and ensuring economic growth and stability.
The foundation will also build upon the achievements of the ‘Last Mile Initiative’, which previously addressed global health challenges, including ambitious commitments to combat polio, malaria, and other neglected tropical diseases.
The new foundation will operate under the umbrella of the Zayed Humanitarian Heritage Foundation, which sets strategic directions for charitable work among state-affiliated institutions and oversees a range of charitable entities and awards, aiming for a qualitative impact on communities in need worldwide.
