Lebanon Calls for Pressure on Israel to Halt Attacks
Lebanese Foreign Minister Condemns Ongoing Israeli Strikes Amid Regional Tensions
Lebanese Foreign Minister Joseph Raji expressed firm opposition to the ongoing Israeli attacks, particularly the recent targeting of Beirut, during a meeting with Stefano Sanino, the European Commission's Director-General for the Middle East and North Africa, who was accompanied by European Union Ambassador to Lebanon, Sandra De Waele.
The meeting, which took place yesterday, involved discussions on the situation in Lebanon, broader regional contexts, and the relationship between Lebanon and the European Union.
Raji reiterated the urgent request for the European Union and the international community to exert maximum pressure on Israel to withdraw from all Lebanese territories and to cease its attacks and violations of Lebanese sovereignty.
He emphasized the need to adhere to the ceasefire declaration and to implement United Nations Security Council Resolution 1701.
In a related development, Israel reportedly destroyed a health center in the Lebanese town of Naqoura, located near the border.
The Health Authority affiliated with Hezbollah reported that three people were injured in separate drone attacks in southern Lebanon.
According to the health authority, the Israeli strikes targeted a recently established Civil Defense center in Naqoura during the early hours, leading to its complete destruction and damaging two ambulance and firefighting vehicles, although no injuries were reported among the emergency responders.
The Lebanese Ministry of Health condemned the Israeli attack, labeling it as another addition to a series of repeated breaches conducted by Israel against health facilities since the commencement of hostilities.
