National Jiu-Jitsu Team Completes Weight Check Ahead of Asian Championship in Jordan
The UAE national jiu-jitsu team prepares to compete in the 9th edition of the Asian Jiu-Jitsu Championship in Amman from May 23 to May 26.
Members of the UAE national jiu-jitsu team, sponsored by Mubadala Investment Company, successfully completed the official weigh-in procedures in Amman, Jordan, ahead of the 9th Asian Jiu-Jitsu Championship, set to take place from May 23 to May 26.
The national team is represented in this continental event by 37 male and female athletes across the senior and under-21 categories.
Athletes have undergone an intensive preparation program, which included both domestic and international training camps designed to enhance their readiness, physical fitness, and technical skills.
The competition will begin today with events in the men's senior category, followed by the women's senior category on Sunday, and will conclude with the under-21 bouts on Monday.
Mohammed Salem Al Dhaheri, Vice President of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation, remarked that participating in the Asian Jiu-Jitsu Championship is a significant milestone for the team, aiming to bolster the country's leadership in this sport on both continental and international levels.
The completion of the weigh-in procedures is considered a crucial indicator of the athletes' preparedness for competition.
The squad includes a selection of talented players who have undergone rigorous training and demonstrated advanced levels of skill, which instills confidence in their ability to compete and achieve results that reflect the nation's reputation.
