The draw for the 11th edition of the Arab Cup, set to take place in Qatar from December 1 to December 18, 2025, was held in the capital city of Doha.
This edition marks Qatar's third time hosting the tournament, having previously welcomed the event in 1998 and 2021.
The tournament will feature 16 Arab national teams, with preliminary qualifiers scheduled for November 25 to 26, 2024, following a single-match format in Doha.
As a result of the draw, the UAE national football team, known as 'the White,' has been placed in a challenging Group C, alongside Egypt, Jordan, and the winner of the match between Kuwait and Mauritania.
Group A includes the host nation Qatar, Tunisia, and the winners of two preliminary matchups: Syria vs.
South Sudan and Palestine vs.
Libya.
Group B comprises Morocco, Saudi Arabia, and the victors from the preliminary matches involving Oman against Somalia and Yemen facing Comoros.
Group D consists of Algeria, Iraq, and teams emerging from matches between Bahrain and Djibouti, and Lebanon versus Sudan.
The tournament boasts a total prize pool exceeding $36.5 million and will be held under the auspices of FIFA for the second consecutive time, following a history of organization by the Arab Football Association.
UAE national team coach Oleaiu Cosmin announced a roster of 27 players for upcoming matches against Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan on June 5 and June 10, 2024, respectively, as part of the Asian qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Key players selected include goalkeepers Ali Khaseef, Khalid Eissa, and Hamad Al-Maqbali, with defenders Lucas Pimenta, Kwame, Khalifa Hamadi, and Alaauddin Zuhair making the cut.
