Ras Al Khaimah's Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Welcomes Michigan Governor for Innovation Agreement

Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, a member of the UAE Supreme Council and ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, welcomed Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer and her accompanying delegation at his palace in the city of Saqr bin Mohammed on Wednesday.
During the meeting, Sheikh Saud expressed his appreciation for Governor Whitmer's visit to the United Arab Emirates, which underscored the friendly relations and strategic partnership between the UAE and the United States.
Discussions focused on enhancing bilateral cooperation and exploring opportunities for growth across various sectors.
The two leaders engaged in dialogue regarding several economic and trade topics of mutual interest, especially regarding the ongoing partnership between Ras Al Khaimah and prominent U.S. businesses and entrepreneurs.
The emirate is recognized for providing promising investment opportunities and a thriving economic environment conducive to business operations.
Following the meeting, Sheikh Saud and Governor Whitmer, alongside Robert Rains, the U.S. Consul General in Dubai, witnessed the signing of an agreement between the Ras Al Khaimah Entrepreneurship and Startups Center and the Michigan Economic Development Corporation, in collaboration with the University of Michigan.
This agreement aims to boost cooperation in key sectors including technology, innovation, entrepreneurship, and education.
The signed pact reflects the deep strategic partnership between the UAE and the United States, demonstrating both parties' commitment to fostering economic growth, supporting entrepreneurship, and facilitating knowledge exchange while leveraging best practices from each side.
