Tragic Car Crash Claims Lives of Three Emirati Teenagers in Sharjah
The boys, aged 13 to 18, were on their way to an iftar gathering when the speeding vehicle lost control.
Three Emirati teenagers from the same family died in a tragic traffic accident in Wadi Al Helo, Sharjah on the evening of March 17. According to Sharjah Police, the accident occurred as the teens were traveling to a friend's house for iftar.
The vehicle reportedly lost control due to speeding, flipped over multiple times, and eventually caught fire after coming to a rest in the valley.
The victims, identified as MKM, MAM, and SAM, were aged between 15 and 18. Emergency services received a call at approximately 6:45 PM, coinciding with the start of iftar.
Two of the teenagers were declared dead at the scene, while the third succumbed to his injuries later at Kalba Hospital.
Following funeral prayers at Al Hussain Mosque in Wadi Al Helo, the boys were laid to rest in the same cemetery, with two being buried on Monday night and the third the following day.
This incident has highlighted ongoing concerns regarding road safety, particularly among young drivers in the UAE.
Authorities have reiterated warnings to parents about the dangers associated with allowing minors to operate vehicles without valid licenses.
The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash is ongoing, with authorities emphasizing the need for heightened caution on the roads, particularly during Ramadan when many individuals hasten to reach their destinations before iftar.
