UAE Announces Eid al-Fitr Holiday for Private Sector
The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation has declared a paid holiday for private sector employees from March 30 to April 1, with potential extension depending on the lunar calendar.
The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation in the United Arab Emirates has officially announced that private sector employees will receive a paid holiday to celebrate Eid al-Fitr.
The holiday is scheduled to commence from Sunday, March 30, 2025, and will extend through Tuesday, April 1, 2025. Should the moon sighting confirm that Ramadan lasts for 30 days, the holiday will be extended to Wednesday, April 2, 2025. This decision aligns with traditional practices to celebrate the end of Ramadan, the Islamic holy month of fasting.
The announcement underscores ongoing efforts by the government to provide clarity and support for workers in the private sector during significant cultural and religious occasions.
