The UAE calls for urgent international action to halt military escalations in Gaza, highlighting the rising humanitarian crisis.
The United Arab Emirates has condemned in the strongest terms the recent Israeli airstrikes on Gaza, which have resulted in the deaths and injuries of hundreds of Palestinians.
This escalation is viewed as a violation of the ceasefire agreement established in January.
In an official statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the UAE cautioned against the consequences of military escalation that threatens to result in more innocent casualties and exacerbates the humanitarian crisis in the region.
The UAE urged the international community to take immediate steps to de-escalate the situation.
The government emphasized the need for all efforts to achieve an immediate ceasefire and to protect civilians.
Additionally, it highlighted the importance of discontinuing life-threatening punitive measures, restoring electricity, opening borders, and ensuring humanitarian aid is delivered promptly, safely, and sustainably without hindrance.
The UAE also called for the resumption of the ceasefire agreement between the conflicting parties.
The ongoing Israeli airstrikes on civilian areas and residential zones were warned to potentially inflame the situation in the occupied Palestinian territories, risking a spillover into heightened violence, unrest, and instability in the region.
