The United Arab Emirates has achieved a new milestone in fiber optic connectivity, recording a fiber-to-the-home penetration rate of 99.5%.
This statistic positions the UAE at the forefront of global fiber optic networks, a ranking it has maintained since 2016. This information was released in the annual report issued by the European Fiber to the Home Council, which analyzes data from 2024.
According to the report, the UAE has outperformed several countries in this sector, with South Korea ranked second at 96.6%.
China follows in third place with a penetration rate of 93.6%.
Hong Kong ranks fifth, achieving 89.9%.
These figures illustrate the significant advancements in telecommunications infrastructure within the UAE and its commitment to enhancing digital connectivity as part of its broader technological development strategy.
