Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Visits IDEX 2025, Highlights Defense Sector Innovations

Sheikh Khalid bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan emphasizes UAE's commitment to advancing defense technologies.
Sheikh Khalid bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Executive Council of Abu Dhabi, visited the International Defense Exhibition and Conference (IDEX 2025) held in Abu Dhabi.

The event, which is under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, runs until February 21, 2025, at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC).

During his visit, Sheikh Khalid toured several national and international pavilions, where he examined a range of modern defense innovations and technologies.

This included advanced defense systems, equipment, and solutions in artificial intelligence, digital defense technology, and unmanned systems.

Sheikh Khalid highlighted the importance of IDEX in fostering innovation, enhancing knowledge exchange, and showcasing the latest in defense technologies.

He remarked on the role of the exhibition in establishing the UAE as a global leader in the defense and security industries, as well as in expanding strategic partnerships with major companies and specialized entities in this vital sector.

The Crown Prince noted that the UAE leadership places significant importance on the defense sector, ensuring alignment with the latest developments in advanced defense technologies.

He emphasized that embracing innovation, technological solutions, artificial intelligence, and unmanned systems contributes to bolstering the country's defense capabilities and supports the ongoing development within this key sector.

Additionally, Sheikh Khalid commended the advanced level achieved by the local defense industry during his visits to various national pavilions.

He underscored the necessity of continuing to qualify and empower Emirati talents in this field through strengthening strategic partnerships and providing a supportive environment for research and development.

This, he believes, plays a critical role in cementing the UAE's leadership in the defense sector.
