Abu Dhabi Unveils Residential Benefits Package Worth 4.62 Billion Dirhams
The latest housing initiative in Abu Dhabi provides substantial support for over 3,000 citizens ahead of Eid Al Adha.
Upon directives from Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Executive Council, has approved a residential benefits package amounting to 4.62 billion dirhams for citizens in Abu Dhabi.
A total of 3,052 citizens will benefit from this initiative across the emirate.
The package includes housing loans totaling 4.4 billion dirhams, which will directly assist 2,862 citizens.
Additionally, the initiative exempts senior citizens, low-income pensioners, and heirs of deceased borrowers from repaying housing loans, with a total value of 212 million dirhams benefiting 190 individuals.
This second tranche of residential benefits for the year 2025 is timed to coincide with the upcoming Eid Al Adha celebrations, reflecting the enduring commitment of the UAE leadership to foster comprehensive development.
The initiative aims to enhance the well-being of Emirati families and ensure their stability, enabling them to contribute actively to the nation’s development.
This aligns with the broader objectives of the 'Community Year 2025', which seeks to strengthen societal cohesion and reinforce solidarity among community members.
With this announcement, the total residential benefits disbursed to citizens in Abu Dhabi this year rises to 11.38 billion dirhams.
Mohammad Ali Al Shorfa, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Housing Authority, stated that this initiative demonstrates the leadership's commitment to supporting citizens and enabling them to achieve a dignified living through quality housing solutions, which in turn fosters family stability and enhances quality of life.
Hamad Harib Al Mehairi, Director General of the Abu Dhabi Housing Authority, highlighted that the second housing package for 2025 embodies the strategic vision of the UAE leadership in building a prosperous future while meeting citizens' needs and aspirations for sustainable housing solutions.
This housing benefit package follows a recent provision of social support to all housing loan beneficiaries, offering 250,000 dirhams in assistance and reducing monthly loan installments by 50%, alongside various other services and facilitation efforts.
In a separate development, the UAE's digital identity program, UAE PASS, won the gold award at the 16th International Government Transformation Awards 2025 held in London, recognized for its innovative governmental work.
This accolade was awarded after a thorough evaluation of 140 governmental initiatives globally, emphasizing the high standards of the UAE PASS program.
The award was attributed to collaborative efforts among local and federal government entities, including Dubai Digital Authority and Abu Dhabi’s Department of Government Empowerment, along with various other ministries and cybersecurity bodies.
The UAE PASS project serves as the country's first secure digital identity for citizens and residents, utilizing advanced biometric technology and facilitates access to over 15,000 digital services across more than 340 government and private entities, positioning it as a cornerstone of the UAE's digital transformation narrative.
In other news, President Sheikh Mohamed convened with the Rulers of the Emirates at a reception to exchange Eid Al Adha greetings, attended by senior officials and members of the diplomatic corps.
The event underscored a collective commitment to future development and unity among the UAE's leadership.
