UAE Celebrates Eid Al Adha with Joyful Births and Communal Greetings
Families across the UAE welcomed new life on Eid Al Adha as leaders exchanged heartfelt greetings and performed traditional prayers.
Eid Al Adha 2025 brought a significant celebration in the UAE as families welcomed several newborns during the early hours of the auspicious day.
The tradition emphasizes collective joy, and this year's observance saw new life emerging as families gathered to enjoy the holiday.
In Abu Dhabi, the first baby of the day, a girl named Sila, was born at 1:39 AM at NMC Royal Hospital.
Weighing 3.56 kg, Sila is the first child of Jordanian parents Rehaf Mohamed Mansour, a housewife, and her husband Ibrahim Abdel, a computer engineer.
The delivery was overseen by Dr. Eman Sadek.
Shortly thereafter, at 1:54 AM, Indian expat parents Nikita Paresh Wadka and Yogesh welcomed a baby boy at Prime Hospital in Dubai.
Weighing 2.9 kg at birth, this marked their first child.
Dr. Varsha Singhal confirmed the successful delivery as a deeply fulfilling experience for the medical staff involved.
Meanwhile, Aster Hospital in Al Qusais celebrated the arrival of a boy, born at 4:39 AM to parents Haneena Saithammarakathu Lanchira Purayil and Mansoor Ali, who expressed gratitude for the exceptional care they received.
RAK Hospital in Ras Al Khaimah reported the joyful arrival of Zayed Hamed Sayed Hamed Hamed at 5:45 AM, weighing 2.180 kg.
He is the third child of Egyptian parents Hamed Sayed Hamed and Eman Mohamed, who expressed their happiness at welcoming their son on such a significant day.
Throughout the day, various hospitals across the UAE continued to record the births of additional Eid babies, further cementing this day as a communal celebration of life.
In addition to personal celebrations, UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan exchanged Eid Al Adha greetings with leaders from neighboring nations, including Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Morocco, and Iran, expressing wishes for prosperity and peace.
President Sheikh Mohamed also hosted a reception at Al Mushrif Palace in Abu Dhabi, welcoming members of the Supreme Council and Rulers of the Emirates, who engaged in warm discussions focused on the nation’s continued stability and progress.
Prayer services were a central component of the celebrations, with President Sheikh Mohamed leading Eid Al Adha prayers at Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque accompanied by senior officials.
These prayers brought together leaders and the public to reflect on the values of community and faith.
Sheikh Mohamed took to X to wish joy and harmony to the citizens and residents of the UAE and the broader Muslim community around the world, while Vice President Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid also extended heartfelt Eid greetings.
Eid Al Adha, which commemorates the willingness of the Prophet Ibrahim to sacrifice his son as an act of obedience to God, is recognized as a period of giving, togetherness, and reflection across the UAE.
Employees in both public and private sectors were granted public holidays from June 5 to June 8 to facilitate these celebrations, with work set to resume on June 9.
