Dubai Hosts Inspiring Sports Games Showcasing Global Participation

Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed witnesses the second day of the Dubai Games 2025, emphasizing the importance of sports culture.
Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense of the United Arab Emirates, attended the second day of the sixth edition of the Dubai Games, which features participation from 244 teams worldwide.

The event aims to foster a strong sports culture emphasizing physical and mental fitness among the community.

During the event, Sheikh Hamdan praised the high performance exhibited by the competing teams, noting their significant physical and mental capabilities.

He reaffirmed that Dubai continues to present an inspiring model for a community that values sports as a lifestyle embraced by individuals across various age groups and physical abilities.

The second day of the competition included the continuation of the Government Challenge for men, culminating in the qualification of four teams for the final round scheduled for Sunday, February 23. The Abu Dhabi Police team secured first place in this challenge with a score of 121 points, followed closely by the Ajman Department of Lands and Real Estate in second place with 113.74 points.

The Ministry of Defense team ranked third with 113.63 points, while the Dubai State Security team placed fourth with a score of 112.19 points.

Additionally, the events included the first round of the Cities Challenge, which saw significant expansion this year through the participation of 50 teams from various countries.

Teams represented nations such as Bahrain, Kuwait, Denmark, Australia, Norway, the United Kingdom, the United States, Spain, Italy, Germany, Russia, Poland, the Czech Republic, the Netherlands, France, and Portugal, in addition to the UAE.

As the competition progresses, heightened rivalry is anticipated on the third day, particularly within the Cities Challenge and the commencement of the Community Challenge, continuing the strong performances displayed in the first two days.

This edition of the Dubai Games is notable for its record growth in participation, reflecting an increasing trend in the number of competing teams, solidifying Dubai's reputation as a global capital for sports and challenge.

This year's competition includes 84 teams in the Men's Government Challenge, 26 teams in the Women's Government Challenge, 28 teams in the Community Challenge, and 50 teams in the Cities Challenge, with 56 additional teams participating in the Youth Challenge.

The Dubai Games are supported by several strategic partners from both the public and private sectors, enhancing its status as a premier global sporting event.

Key partners include DP World as an official partner, and Diamond partners Damac and Emirates.

Other notable partners include the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, First Abu Dhabi Bank, M42, and several media sponsorships.

Positioned with its new identity, the Dubai Games serve as an ideal platform to inspire community members and motivate them to adopt a lifestyle rooted in activity, renewal, ambition, and resilience, reflecting the vibrant values of Dubai.
