Emirates Team Triumphs at the 2025 Tour of Romandy

Portuguese cyclist João Almeida clinches overall victory, leading his team to multiple accolades at the Swiss cycling event.
The Emirates-EXR Cycling Team concluded its participation in the 2025 Tour of Romandy with notable achievements, highlighted by the overall victory of Portuguese cyclist João Almeida.

His strong performance in the final stage, an individual time trial over 17.1 kilometers held in Geneva, secured his place at the top of the general classification.

The team also celebrated additional accomplishments, with Australian cyclist Jai Vine finishing third overall.

Vine not only won the third stage of the tour but also claimed the title for the best climber.

Furthermore, the Emirates-EXR team secured the team classification title, reflecting their exceptional collective performance throughout the week-long event.

João Almeida expressed his happiness in winning the overall title, acknowledging the significant contributions of his team members.

Belgian cyclist Remco Evenepoel from the Soudal-Quick-Step team won the final stage with a time of 20:33 minutes, finishing just 12 seconds ahead of Almeida.

Despite this, Almeida's second-place finish was sufficient to guarantee his overall victory, finishing 26 seconds ahead of Lenny Martinez from Bahrain Victorious, with his teammate Vine in third place, 41 seconds behind.

Jai Vine played a pivotal role in the team's success, particularly after his decisive victory in the mountainous third stage to Kusnoy, which he achieved through a critical attack in the final kilometer.

His outstanding performances in the mountain stages also earned him the jersey for best climber.

This Tour of Romandy adds to the Emirates-EXR team's successes this season, bringing their total victories in 2025 to 37 as they finalize preparations for the Giro d'Italia, set to commence next week from Albania.

Final Overall Classification of the 2025 Tour of Romandy:
1. João Almeida (Emirates-EXR Team) — 16:50:44 hours
2. Lenny Martinez (Bahrain Victorious) — +26 seconds
3. Jai Vine (Emirates-EXR Team) — +41 seconds
