GITEX Europe - Berlin 2025: A Showcase of Technological Innovation and Global Partnerships
The inaugural GITEX Europe - Berlin 2025 highlights the UAE's commitment to advancing digital entrepreneurship on an international stage.
His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Deputy Prime Minister, emphasizes that GITEX Europe - Berlin 2025, organized by the Dubai World Trade Centre in Germany, reflects the spirit and vision of Dubai in fostering global partnerships for a better future.
In a message posted on the social media platform X, he noted that the event marks the launch of the first edition of GITEX Europe - Berlin 2025 in Germany, Europe’s largest economy and a key destination for startups.
The United Arab Emirates participates with the largest delegation specializing in entrepreneurship and digital investment, led by Minister of State for Entrepreneurship Aliyah Alzaabi, and featuring 65 Emirati entities showcasing their pioneering experiences before global business leaders, decision-makers, and technology innovators.
Sheikh Hamdan remarked that the UAE and Dubai are shaping the future of global technology by building cross-continental bridges and enhancing global innovation and sustainable growth, with this event embodying Dubai's vision of developing global partnerships for societal advancement.
The event has positioned Berlin as a technology hub in Europe and a global center for digital collaboration, with the opening day witnessing substantial visitor turnout, marking it as the largest and most diverse tech and investment event held for the first time in the region.
The exhibition is taking place at Messe Berlin amid a pivotal moment for Europe’s digital future, coinciding with the 'Choose Europe' movement, which aims to solidify the next generation of innovation, research, investment, skills, and advanced technologies within the continent.
GITEX Europe also signifies a renewed impetus in Germany, featuring the establishment of a new government and the launch of the country’s first digital ministry, tasked with leading digital transformation efforts and excelling in artificial intelligence and data policies.
Originating from the UAE, GITEX has expanded to include global editions in seven countries, representing the largest and most prestigious technology and startup event worldwide, and underscores the UAE’s commitment to enhancing global digital cooperation.
The exhibition's expansion into Europe reaffirms this commitment, particularly following the investment by MGX, a leading investment company from Abu Dhabi, in partnership with Nvidia to develop the largest AI data center in Europe, alongside a new data center complex in Abu Dhabi with a capacity of 5 gigawatts, making it the largest of its kind outside the United States.
The opening ceremony included welcoming remarks from global leaders, such as Kai Wegner, Mayor of Berlin, Aliyah Alzaabi, Minister of State for Entrepreneurship, Clara Chappaz, Minister for Artificial Intelligence and Digital Technologies in France, and Thomas Jarzombek, Commissioner at the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy in Germany, among others.
The event features participation from over 100 countries, 1,400 tech companies and startups, more than 600 influential investors, and 500 industry leaders, facilitating strategic dialogues on innovation, investment, political transformations, and business changes, thereby fostering wide-ranging partnerships across sectors and geographic boundaries.
GITEX Europe is held under the umbrella of the Dubai World Trade Centre, in partnership with the Berlin Senate for Economic Affairs, Energy and Public Enterprises, the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action, Berlin Partner for Business and Technology, and the European Innovation Council.
Mayor Kai Wegner stated that hosting GITEX in Berlin brings together founders from across the globe with investors and large companies, as Berlin establishes itself as the capital of startups in Germany, providing an optimal environment for entrepreneurs.
Minister Aliyah Alzaabi conveyed that the UAE is transcending traditional economic diplomacy to lead a new trajectory under 'Entrepreneurship Diplomacy', driven by ongoing efforts to forge global partnerships aimed at empowering entrepreneurs within the nation.
She stressed that the capability of GITEX Europe to congregate SMEs, investors, incubators, accelerators, and industry leaders under one roof is perfectly aligned with the UAE’s aspirations to enhance its partnerships with Europe in the fields of entrepreneurship and the digital economy.
Clara Chappaz, Minister for Artificial Intelligence and Digital Technologies in France, remarked that Europe’s past reputation as a continent of regulations and restrictions is now behind it, as Europe has become known as a continent of innovation.
She emphasized that Europe possesses all the necessary elements for success in developing groundbreaking AI technologies, and the partnership between France and Germany is a clear commitment to accelerate innovation across the continent, particularly concerning digital transformation and technological advancement.
