Mohamed bin Zayed Foundation for Humanity Established to Enhance Global Humanitarian Efforts

New foundation aims to empower vulnerable communities and support global health initiatives.
Abu Dhabi: The Mohamed bin Zayed Foundation for Humanity has officially been launched, as announced by His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE.

The foundation's mission is to advance human potential, support global health initiatives, and expand opportunities for vulnerable communities throughout the world.

The President reviewed the foundation's vision and strategy during a meeting with its delegation at Qasr Al Shati in Abu Dhabi.

Present at the meeting were Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Development and Fallen Heroes’ Affairs, and other dignitaries.

Aligned with the UAE's commitment to humanitarian work, the foundation will focus on sustainable development by investing in innovative solutions designed to empower individuals and communities, thus driving progress and prosperity on a global scale.

It intends to collaborate closely with national institutions to further achieve sustainable development goals, especially in the realm of global health.

Established through a decree by Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President and Deputy Prime Minister of the UAE, the foundation's inauguration coincided with Zayed Humanitarian Day, observed annually on the 19th of Ramadan.

This day honors the humanitarian legacy of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, recognized for his dedication to charitable and humanitarian initiatives.

The Mohamed bin Zayed Foundation for Humanity possesses independent legal, financial, and administrative status, which will facilitate its operations in fulfilling its objectives.

The foundation will prioritize implementing humanitarian and development initiatives, whilst also promoting a culture of philanthropy at both local and international levels.

Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan emphasized the foundation's vital role in supporting global development, empowering communities, and providing assistance to those affected by crises around the world.

He remarked that the foundation's endeavors will address social and economic challenges faced by the most vulnerable populations, ensuring sustainable benefits through its programs.

Sheikh Theyab further remarked that the establishment of the foundation showcases the UAE's commitment to building a more equitable world through innovative solutions and partnerships aimed at uplifting communities globally.

Looking ahead, the foundation has set an ambitious goal to reach over 500 million people across more than 50 countries including regions in Asia, Africa, and the Middle East within the next five years.

It plans to build upon pre-existing charitable initiatives led by Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, focusing on healthcare access, economic growth, and stability.

The foundation will also carry forward the successful initiatives of Reaching the Last Mile, which previously oversaw global health efforts associated with the UAE President, including significant commitments toward eradicating polio, malaria, and neglected tropical diseases.

These initiatives will now be integrated into the foundation's broader mission.

Additionally, the new foundation will operate under the auspices of Erth Zayed Philanthropies, which oversees strategic philanthropy initiatives associated with UAE leadership.

This allows the foundation to align with various philanthropic institutions and awards, with the goal of creating a meaningful impact in underprivileged communities worldwide.
