Sharjah Aims for Second Place in ADNOC Pro League Clash with Khorfakkan
The Asian champions face Khorfakkan in a crucial match as they seek to reclaim the league's second position.
Sharjah, the newly crowned Asian champions, will visit Khorfakkan today in the concluding match of Week 25 in the ADNOC Pro League.
The Asian titleholders approach this match determined to reclaim their position in the league standings, which they lost to Al Wasl after the latter's 3-1 victory over Bani Yas earlier in the week.
Khorfakkan, led by national coach Abd Almajid Nimer, is looking to return to winning form following two consecutive draws against Al Nasr and Bani Yas, both ending in 3-3 results.
Currently, Khorfakkan occupies the eighth place in the league, holding 33 points.
Coach Nimer stated, "The match will be tough against the Asian champions, whom we sincerely congratulate.
The team has prepared well, and we are determined to achieve victory and restore our winning rhythm.” He emphasized that support from the fans in the stands serves as a significant motivation for the team, reinforcing their goal of securing a complete performance against the esteemed Asian champions.
Sharjah enters the match with a total of 45 points, and a victory would propel them directly into second place, just two points behind their closest rival.
Under the guidance of Romanian coach Cosmin Olaroiu, the team aims to maintain its positive momentum following their recent Asian title win last Sunday.
